Overblown

I wonder why people love Las Vegas. Personally, I think it's pretty overblown. While I would like to return to Vegas one day, I'm not jumping at the bit. It's such a city of extravagance that it's somewhat sickening. Everything has a gimmick, the las vegas hotels are all themed and each new one tries to be bigger, more expensive, and more overblown than the last. The restaurants, while good, are also a mixture of expensive entrées and famous chefs that don't actually work there. The stores are all to pricey and filled with material crap, frankly. The entire city is built on making you feel/wish that you were a millionaire 5 times over.

It's the same loud experience in every hotel and casino, you just get a different theme. I don't know, it's a fun city but I think there are too many people who take Vegas seriously. Perhaps it's the antisocialite in me, but I don't know how much I could handle all of that money flaunting and obnoxious rich people day after day.

Just a rant I suppose.

I would love to visit Vegas. I live in a VERY small and rural area -- so I've never experienced big city life before. Hopefully one day I'll get there : ]
